WHOA!

Was gettin ready for bed and we saw this and this is what I want to do when I die!!
Had to post before I forgot

Its on the National Geographic channel. (yes, we are mega dorks)

Promession is an ecologically-conscious method for disposing of human remains by freeze drying. It was invented and patented in 1999 by the Swedish biologist Susanne Wiigh-Mäsak.

The method is based on three steps:

Reducing the body of the deceased to a fine powder, thereby allowing subsequent decomposition to be aerobic. This is achieved by submerging the body in liquid nitrogen, making the remains so brittle that they shatter into a powder as the result of slight vibrations. The powder is then dried, reducing the deceased remains to around 30% of their original body weight.
Removing and recycling metals within the powdered remains.
Shallow-burying the powder in a biodegradable casket.
The first facilities for promession-based funerals, known as Promators, are due to be ready in 2008. They will be located in Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, South Korea and South Africa.[citation needed]

The volume of remains left by this procedure is about three times that left by a cremation, but the advantages claimed include avoiding the release of pollutants into the atmosphere (for instance, mercury vapour from dental fillings) and the rapid degradation of the remains after the procedure (within 6 to 12 months). The procedure meets the requirements of new European Union pollution laws

the program went on to say they can place your remains in a biodigradable basket type thing and plant a tree in your plot which would be much les than a casket size. :clap

I WANT THAT!

Promesion...freezedrying your body. Can I just say:
Sounds like a load of crap. Living things have been dying since there was life on earth. So suddenly there is eco-friendly body-disposal? Fuck that shit. Just another way of moneymakers trying to shake pennies out of the pockets of sandal-wearing longhaired-hippy-people.

Your body is DEAD. Your body is NATURE. Your body is biodegradable. So is a woodencasket. Why go through so much trouble. Put it in the ground or burn it in an oven. so silly

If you really want to be fucking eco-friendly: Make people eat your body. They will shit it out which can be used as fertilizer to make trees grow taller in order to cast a cooling shadow for the poor children in Me-hee-co.

And to think that people used money to fund their research and stuff. Why not use it to fucking donate it to people who are alive and starving out there!

A bit of a rant but, it's just ludicrous!

you can be turned into a diamond? Surely you are kidding!

Rodney nowadays I imagine dead people decomposing is not so eco friendly because our bodies are so polluted with all kinds of toxins! You should see all the shit that came out of my feet yesterday during my ionic detox foot bath!
